FESTIVAL & CAMPING GUIDELINES:
Rough camping is included in every festival pass admission, however it is not included in single-day passes.
We proudly host a multi-generational event, open to all ages, and our rules help to ensure that everyone has a fantastic time.
Important Info & Guidelines:
Gates: We open the festival gates on Friday at NOON. Please no early birds, as our music camp will be in progress! All festival-goers must head home by Sunday at 8 PM.
Service & Wifi: cell service can very limited and spotty in parts of the festival site.
No glass permitted on-site: please leave glass bottles at home.
Youth: Anyone 15 and under is expected to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian all weekend.
Respect your neighbours: We welcome everyone to the Northern Lights Bluegrass and Old Time Festival and Music Camp.
Keep liquor at your own campsite: We are not a fully licensed festival site, so open-liquor is not permitted in the main festival areas.
Use designated fire pits only: We may ban fires entirely if it’s too dry. Never leave a fire unattended.
Drive slowly: Stay under 20 KM/H when driving on-site. We close camping field gates at 11 PM.
Stay safe—don’t drink and drive: The Big River RCMP monitor nearby roads and take enforcement seriously.
Stay bear aware: Keep your campsite clean, store food away from tents, and use the garbage and recycling stations. They generally stay away from large groups and loud noise, but it is very important to be mindful of your campsite cleanliness
Supervise your kids: Northern Lights is family-friendly, and our Children’s Area includes an unsupervised playground, but parents must keep their children in sight at all times.
Prevent forest fires: Most are caused by human error. Be mindful when smoking and dispose of cigarette butts properly.
Smoke only in designated areas. Please don’t smoke in seating or dance areas.
Use water wisely. We provide water, but the supply is limited.
